Olive / Olea europaea

Scientific name: Olea europaea

Common name (English / Spanish / Catalan): Olive / Olivo / Olivera

Evergreen tree with a tortuous trunk, thick and branched. Oblong and opposite leaves, dark green in the top face and silver-gray in the reverse (underside).
Small white flowers (0,5 cm) with two big bright yellow stamens inside, grouped in inflorescences. The fruit (olive) is ellipsoidal or globose in shape, more or less symmetrical, with color changing from green to red and becoming black when mature.
It blooms in May-June.
