Scientific name: Mercurialis sp.
Common name (English / Spanish / Catalan): Mercury / Mercurial/ Melcoratge
Annual herbs, 20 and 50 cm in height. Light green leaves with slightly serrated margin, opposite. Plant with a characteristic smell.
They are dioecious plants (male and female flowers in different plants). Male flowers gathered in erect inflorescences in the terminal part of the plant; female flowers isolated and growing in the base of the leaves. The fruit is a small green capsule, slightly flattened and covered with hairs, formed by two parts each one with a seed.
It flowers almost all the year round, with the exception of summer.
